The annual Rainbow Toy Awards, which judges the best toys available in the UK, has announced its winners and Little Tikes’ STEM Jr Wonder Lab has clinched the lead accolade.

Wonder Lab, a key product in our STEM Jr range, has beaten a number of other celebrated toys to the top spot, having been named Overall Champion 2018.

Now in its tenth year, The Rainbow Toy Awards honours excellence within the industry and, importantly, winners are voted for by children – the very people who matter the most. The toy testers report back on everything from playability and eco-friendliness to packaging of the products.

STEM Jr Wonder Lab is one of three educational toys in a range designed to introduce little ones to the concept of science, technology, engineering and maths. Designed for age three and above, it’s an ideal toy for toddlers and pre-school learning. STEM Jr ignites curiosity through hands-on play and ensures STEM learning is fun and creative. Wonder Lab contains more than 20 unique experiments and has over 50 accessories, sounds and phrases.

Rainbow Toy Awards managing director, Peter Dawson, commented: “We never know which toys will win an award, as they are voted for by the children themselves, and we’ve certainly had a few surprises over the years.

“Children are the most brutal of critics, and so to win a Rainbow Toy Award is a real accolade.”

As well as Wonder Lab’s victory, Little Tikes’ celebrity-loved Magical Unicorn Carriage emerged ‘highly commended’ in the Outdoor Toys category, while the Shop ‘n Learn Smart Checkout was voted ‘highly commended’ for Imaginative Play.
